Wonderful World
This is a song about being young and the commencement of your first relationship. It was about paradise part at the beginning. Unbeknownst to me at the time there is a real danger of abortion in early relationships, schools taught it to me but I was under the impression they were trying to scare me. For example, I have never seen people with sexually transmitted disease at the level they displayed in text books. I had never heard of an abortion in my town. In this particular relationship, looking back I wish I did not engage in sexual behavior. However I did engage in sexual behavior. I have been celibate for over 11 years. In this particular relationship she really pulled away from me and became very elusive. I was always wanting to hang out with her, and got my preverbal tea set out and she did not reciprocate. I really wanted our love to be free but it was not.
The chorus was about how I wanted my life to be a wonderful world but she was never around. I wanted to go out with her but she did not want to be seen with me. I was always calling her and she never called me back.
The second verse is about a different girl. I remember being so ecstatic to go down town to meet this friend at this bar, and she totally ignored me. I was waiting for her all night to talk to me she never did. I saw her around the bar and I let out a sigh because she would not give me the time of day. The last line is a little unrelated but I think when you enter into a serious relationship it should be customary to pray with your partner. I am not sure she was too fond of me to bring that degree of seriousness in the relationship but that is something I will probably choose to do in the future.
The last verse is in reference to a memorable time period when I was feeling really dark and then there was this instance of my imagination unlocking. It is also in reference to a 19 day dreamscape in my mind where I started seeing vivid images.
