Spinnin Fast
This song is called Spinnin fast and the initial title is about what the Buddhist call a urna which is a dot on your forehead that symbolizes the third eye which is said to symbolize vision into the divine world I have had the sensation of it spinning on my head and wanted to write about it. The trees and the sea breeze that I talk about are those feelings of being home headed to the south part of Napa where at the time I worked. That area specializes in the production of Pinot Noir and you can feel the connection to the bay and the sea life.
The second verse is directed at settling down and getting married and taking a mortgage. Your life changes when you take a mortgage you are now grounded. There is the bigness of the world that I really want to explore but it is so hard to find the time and money. I am fearful of losing my freedom and getting married and having kids and wanted to run from it all so I decided to take on another address.
The third verse starts visiting Austin for the first time then driving there for a relatively permanent time period to escape the boredom. If you look at all the ups and downs and when your sun sets you should of done what you liked to do. In doing you create your own truth and your own tales, your own bliss, your own freedom, and your own abandoned.

The next verse subject matter is the belief in miracles that is so ingrained in our culture with a Christ centered holidays like Christmas and Easter. It is safe to believe in things that are proven that we have empirical data to support and that is important to our culture, which is fine. To believe in things that cannot always be proven through scientific method is just as important to us if not more important. Miracles in the world, I tend to believe are rewards for morality that god bestows on us. If we want a better life from god we have to go out in the world and help people and helping people is crucial to one’s human quest for salvation as well as to appeal to the silent eyes of god. This belief system is the glue that holds society together, that is even more important than the economy and even more important than government. It is the life force that is guided to aid people in need and cause people to go into public service at any level. It is a force that pushes people to better customer service and better product knowledge. From the view point of one’s self, just because you are a moral person does not preclude you from immunity and impunity from the economy or government regulation you cannot completely ignore those forces.
